Desert Beginnings

Four of us launched a week early to explore the Southwest, navigating north to a Seattle rendezvous with our other two riders who left later, but used a more direct route. Remove the asphalt and you have the perfect B-western movie landscape. Monument Valley, Utah was a workhorse backdrop for Hollywood since the 1930s. This was just a hint of the beauty ahead.
