Land Flight-IMAGES will be a collection of the author's moto-travel photographs supported by captions with the odd splash of full-page commentary. Though the bike happens to be a BMW, the focus of the book is broader--- extolling the benefits and adventure of motorcycling in general.

Set within the burgeoning baby boomer generation's move to motorcycling, Land Flight-IMAGES is being assembled by a former advertising executive who, after having been abruptly re-org’d out of his corporate career of 24 years, decides to live life at last---at least for awhile---on his own terms: no more deadlines, no ringing phones, or business emergencies to quell.

Over 500,000 air-traveled business miles fall by the wayside as the baby boomer unabashedly embraces mid-life crisis. He begins by buying a BMW Roadster motorcycle on which to explore this great country this time at ground level. The result will be a pictorial travelogue of sorts, tracking his re-discovery of motorcycling after a 24-year hiatus and the often unexpected enlightenment it provides.

His project photographically documents the author's “iron pony” as it roams into ever-widening trip circles. He ultimately joins some riding compatriots for a once in a lifetime trek. A 14,000-mile, two-month revelation ranging from his home in the U.S. heartland to the west coast, the northern reaches of Alaska, Canada, darting southeastward across the American midwest, and finally striking the southernmost tip of Key West, Florida.

Land Flight™ is about coming to grips with what is truly important in the short time we have on this planet. It manifests itself, in this case, as the spirit of motorcycling and the benefits to be derived from allowing ourselves to simply be----ourselves.
