The Road - Parks
/i//Road320.jpg The road trip to a series of National Parks is under my belt. Just two days shy of three weeks travel, 6,000 miles, nine states, one international border crossing, numerous roadside motels, some camping, nice meals, some less so, amazing scenery, some simpler but just-as-rewarding landscapes, big cities, small towns, vast segments of nowhere, great weather, rain, wind, hail, biting cold, simmering heat, fantastic pavement, rutted dirt roads, high elevations, bear sightings, bison showdowns, interesting people, new friends...and a big bucketful of fun. Not too shabby for this poster child of mid-life crisis. This trip was rich in experience and revelation. I have a pocketful of "always do this's" and "don't do THAT agains".

The trip began on Tuesday, June 12th departing from Midwest City, Oklahoma(a suburb to the east of Oklahoma City). North through Kansas and into Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Canada, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado. National Parks visited were Grand Tetons, WY, Yellowstone, MT, Glacier, MT, Waterton/Glacier International Peace Park in Canada, Arches, UT, Canyonlands, UT and a variety of stunning others. Details will be forthcoming. /i//RoadB320.jpg
